My latest find was a college textbook (for biology) at one of my nearby thrift stores. I know college textbooks can be a hit or miss depending on so many factors but I find it's always good to check them out (especially when it looks new). This book in particular wasn't actually that new (2003 edition) but the cover looked fairly new, which was what caught my eye. I could tell it was at least a new addition to the store becuase it was off to the side where only a handful of books were (seemed to be the "to-be-filed" section). The book was listed for $4.00 but all books were 50% off, so the real price was $2.00. When I saw the minimum price for the book being listed around $50 I knew it was a winner. I listed it up on ebay and got around $75 for it!!

That is awesome! I found Ace Ventura for .65 cents yesterday, although I did not sell it on ebay, it was a great deal on a classic Jim Carrey movie. Alrighty Then!!

Couple of good finds lately... some bargain clearance racks at stores have had some video games (xbox 360, ps3, etc.) for $5, that I have gotten and then listed online for $30. Not too bad, but...
Best find so far I think has been a couple box DVD sets of nice documentaries for Apollo 11 and Apollo 15. Real nice case, high quality, neat NASA stuff. Got them for $2-3 I think, and relisted them for $80 each or so (and I am the low cost, new is $130+). Only a few available online so I will be glad if they sell but I expect it to take awhile. Used the website here to check the few "rare looking" DVD's in a bin, and ... bingo!

Hey brownj00-
Nice finds!
I recently found another college textbook. It seems it's a local college textbook. Picked it up for $1 and am listing it for $79. Now just have to wait for the new semester to start and see if anyone grabs it :-)

Hi again,
Was curious if there was anything new posted here... it looks like textbooks might be a regular thing to look for. I'm surprised to hear they can be found in thriftstores though, most students know all about trading them back, etc.
I sold both those NASA documentaries I mentioned, between 2-3 months after listing. Paid: $4, Made: $150. Sweet.
No good finds recently but about 6 weeks ago I found a box full of Agatha Christie Mystery Collection hardcover collectors books- nice faux leather covers, gilded spine, etc. Book of the Month kind of series from the 80's I guess. Great condition, like new. I got the box of 65 books for $65, and listed 90% of them for around $20 each (the rest $25-35). They are slow to sell (sales ranks between 1 and 3 million) but they do sell a couple a month at least so far.
... and then nothing good for a month of yardsales. Go figure!
